We've all heard "It's a jungle out there"! A person who coined this term is correct. It's a jungle out there!

With all the noise that was being made, it becomes very noisy jungle.

Many years ago, one would only need paper maps and a good sense of direction to navigate through this jungle and market your business.

marketing jungle a few years ago only need compass and the map will guide you on your way. Today, one must have GPS and to keep up with the package!

paper maps years may have been just a simple ad in the yellow pages or a sign on the building.

compass would consist of the Yellow Pages ad, log on to the building, and direct mail pieces.

Navigator hip jungle today to the state of the art GPS and a whole new bag of tricks in the marketing mix.

They will have immaculate web site, automation of their customer newsletters, Yellow Page ads that compelled the reader to action, an electronic sign on their building and monitor the system to close more sales than their competitors.

But, remember the old saying: "The more things change the more they stay the same "?

Even with all the high-tech tools and gadgets we have today, it is important to remember to give a human touch to our marketing. What I mean by that?

human touch is a personal letter or phone call just to say: "I was thinking about you and just wanted to say hi. " With so much of our communication is electronic today, we lose the very important "human touch" element. With our busy rush-rush world, it is so easy to just send a quick e-mail to touch base with our customers. Guerrilla marketer understands the emotional ties they have to have with their clients.

Cool gadgets and software are great for business and increase productivity many times, but remember that the customer in mind. They are living breathing person with feelings just like us. One of the emotions you do not want them to feel that they are just one more newsletter subscribers and they feel like they've forgotten about them. It will lose its business at the speed of light. Pick up the phone and say "Hello" or your client to send handwritten notes. It will be remembered long after the e-mail you sent was deleted.
